This is a 75-hour program with 59 hours in the classroom, 16 hours clinical education and a 4 hour CPR/AED/First Aid certification that is conducted over 3 1/2 weeks.
This course includes theory training, lab simulation and clinical, hands on training. This course prepares students to provide basic nursing care to residents in long term care facilities.
Graduates of this program will be able to communicate with residents effectively, recognize medical emergencies, provide hands on assistance with ADL's, while respecting residents rights. Students will learn how to perform basic first aid, vital signs, observing/ reporting, and infection prevention measures.
Upon successful completion of this course graduates of this program will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to sit for the state exam to become a STNA!
